The Tara Country Inn is one of the best Inns we have ever seen or stayed at. Perhaps we are biased, but the owners of this grand place have outdone themselves. Tara Country Inn is patterned after Tara from 'Gone With The Wind'.
There are three disticnt dinning rooms, offering something for every taste. In one of the dinning rooms the staff serves gourmet dinning while one of the other dinning rooms serves American cuisine. I remember ordering a prime rib dinner and the cut of steak was so large I could not finish it all. I have been known to polish off a 24 ounce steak dinner, just to give you an idea of how hearty the portions were.
The rooms are absolutely delightful. For example the Carpet Baggers Room had a four poster bed, gas fireplace, and a sunken tub. There was a bottle of wine with the room. We stayed in the room pictured above during our last stay. Besides the canopy four poster bed there was an enclosed porch outside the room with a hot tub.
Tara Inn also has a beautiful bird named Charlie you can see at the bottom of the stairs. Sometimes he is friendly. There also are guided tours, a heated indoor swimming pool and a gift shop.
It is nice that the price of the room includes everything, from the room to your meal at night and breakfast in the morning. No tipping, thats even in the price of the room. You can not go wrong with any of the rooms you choose. The rooms are always clean and tidy. Plus the people are friendly. This is truly one of the best places for a romantic get away for a night or however long you desire. We have always had a great time there and plan to back to Tara Inn again. Tara Inn makes for a nice romantic getaway. Who knows maybe you'll see us there.
